BUDDING GREATNESS!!!

2016 was not a DRILL...I repeat 2016 was not a DRILL! *sigh*. I guess I need to say this loud enough to starting believing it...lol. As much as I would like to bare my personal experiences of what 2016 meant or not...we'll take a more general approach so you don't sleep off on me :D. Based on popular reviews 2016 was nobody's year because it had its ups and downs...scrap that; all that could possibly go wrong did to the extent that people started hoping for the "frying pan" just to avoid the "fire"! Kidding not. Regardless, this past year had its beautiful moments that no amount of wailing can deny and most importantly it helped most people discover the strength they didn't think they had so kudos to 2016 but not without a sour review of its many facets.

On Technology: This past year saw the most "confident blunders" in the technology world in recent history. Am sorry...really wish I could have minced my words on that but truth has to be told! From being Booby traps to downright Regressiveness. Seems like ingenuity took a long hike all year long leaving complacency to do its job. If watching videos of "ground-breaking discoveries" equated real-time technological advancements then we should all be walking on water by now! It is high time the prototypes made their grand entry into the mainstream #Nuffsaid.

On Politics: *clears throat* To say the political scene was a roller coaster this year would be an understatement. Ironically, there was more to learn about ourselves as a people than the political propaganda that took center stage. I can confidently say this is the first time every single continent of the world experienced a DRASTIC CHANGE both the good and the bad. World leaders built more fences than bridges while the masses naively cheered on, Nations demolished decades of amity for frivolous reforms, Personal agenda replaced global peace but to mention a few. So while we amuse ourselves with some of the fun and games remember its long-term effect on generations to come...what world awaits them!?

On Religion: This saddens me the most...Fanaticism, Apostasy and Blasphemy became the daily norm this past year. Some of the most sinister acts were perpetrated to the bewilderment of all but action of few despite its full fledged status as a global menace. How many more souls and communities needs to be raised to ashes before we fight zealously for peace, for co-habitation, for tolerance because whether anyone likes it or not we all have to live together for as long as the world exists. All our differences can not be rectified in a day or two (or 100 sef!) but putting a foot in front of the another in the struggle for unity is all that's needed.

On Marriage, Relationships, Love & All else: Errr...did you really think I would list each separately *side eye* lol...kindly wear the shoe that fits. Frankly speaking, I already feel exhausted trying to harsh out this topic because the alarming rate of "love lost" stories that hit 2016 is enough to leave anyone speechless. Divorce turned to Dates, Marriages to Mirages & Relationships to Renegades (Notice how smooth my rhymes are!!! #Baddest) back to course...the "world of love" was the last surviving facet to take a hit this past year and everyone hung on so desperately but of course it got caught in the bandwagon effect...leaving everyone to pick up fragments of hope off the floor. Everyone witnessed some sort of deep hurt; from losing a loved one, a favorite celebrity, a home, finance, a job and everything in between...bringing an applauding wrap to 2016's woes "awesomeness".

On a brighter note, this past year had its fair share of amazing moments, most from 2015's hard work that paid off. Hence, I am beyond optimistic that 2017 is going to be GREAT because the darkest hour always comes before dawn and all this turmoil cannot be in vain...*prayer warrior mode activated*. May this New Year replace all that was lost, erase all that is sour, actualize all that is beautiful & bring much more happiness than we deserve!
